RE: Vmar
Glad all is well in flite land..
Crasher/ I was thinking the 52 you were talking about was a 4S. It ought to fly the plane well. I'm just not into 4S's very much. They are good engines but I like the quicker stuff and I haven't found a fast four stroke yet so I stick to the two strokes if I want something to move fast. The Edge will be a bit different than the Avator but will be ok if your used to flying the Av and the stick. I haven't heard too much bad press with the other engine but you'd be safe going with the Tiger. My Tiger fell apart after a year and a half and don't know why but it's a good engine.
Simon/ Glad all went well. I read a lot of bad press about the VMAR stuff early on and glad I didn't listen.Guys said they broke in half on landing, the landing gear broke. All kinds of nite mares but I haven't had a problem yet and I've even cartwheeled it a couple of times. As I said before the covering is my main gripe and even if you ironed it back down (I did too) the hot Aussie sun will probably bring the bubbles back up unless your really lucky. It is a real value for $169.Even if it's a bad flier, it is $169 worth of pretty.
I've been concerned from the start about the wings coming off because of the flimsy bold that holds them on but it's ok so far. The black plastic gaskets that came with it I didn't use.The wings will move up and down maybe 3/16 of an inch but doesn't seem to affect it. One more thing I'll probably pay for dearly some day is that I'm able to leave the wings on for transportation to the field so hardly ever take the wings off to check the inside gear.I do that to all my planes and so far all has been well but you never know when one of those clevices or control horns are loosening up till it's too late.A big chance.
Glad to hear from yall...Keep us posted.
