People who promote the use of fuel dots instead of filler valves never seem to mention what "I & C Tech" discovered. That when you fuel through a tee'd fuel line the fuel flows both ways out of the tee, toward the tank and toward the engine thereby overflowing the carb. I currently use a Sullivan filler valve to fill the tank and have been hoping to find a simpler way to do it. It appears that fuels dots are not the way to go.
Thats not always the case though. If you are using a fuel regulator with fuel dots/tees you will not have the same flooding of the carb.
