Default efficient hinge gaps?

Hi,

Recently bought a fully moulded xmodels xcalibur. The flaps and ailerons are both top hinged using one of the fiberglass laminations. When the surfaces are moved up i'm left with a huge slit on the undersides of the wing which increases drag and noise dramatically. I've tried making an internal wiper system as seen on F3B/F/J models but this reduced the downward travel to much.

Whats the best way of covering this gap without affecting surface travel/drag.

I would be very greatful for any advice

Thanks
