Hello all

I am completing an old VK Nieuport 17 and would like input from anyone who has one that is currently flying.

My big question is the CG. It still comes out about 3.5 inches back as measured from the center of the top wing vs the plan showing about 3.25 inches back. If you have one flying, I'd be interested in where your CG is actually located. [sm=confused.gif]

I built the tail light as can be. I's using control wires instead of pushrod even.
I have every servo up against the firewall. Also the battery. (it's tight!) the battery may go inside with a small AAA type, or in front of the firewall per instructions with standard AA type. The fuel tank is compact, but will still add to tail weight when filled. I'm not sure the best way to calculate CG on this type of bipe with the lower wing so small and so far back. (anyone know a software program?). Anyway, I am also curious on flight characteristics.

The plan shows 3 degrees positive on the top wing, +2 on the lower and +2 on the tail. 0 on the engine. That seems like the plane will 'balloon' a little bit, and with slight tail heaviness, could cause some more issues with stall. []
Has anyone ever changed the incidence angles?

I would also like just basic 'feel' of the plane in flight from experienced flyers who have put time on this model- if any. The papers that came with the plane make it sound like a good flying plane, but the included article talks about a landing that ended up stalling out high up and a crash.

Here are a couple images. I made all the strut fittings out of brass and silver solder to mimic actual type.
