Default RE: Lancaster Bomber

Nony, Twinman thanks for the comments.

I usually fly at the ERCS North field. I am sure it is big enough for the Lanc. That day will sure be a knee knocker. I was playing with an airbrush today on my sample piece. I am working on the Rounells. I read about using low tack kitchen pantry shelf liner material for the templates. So I tried it and it worked well. The blue colour is insignia blue, and the red is just some old red Testors that I had. When I do the actual red I will use insignia red. It turned out not to bad. The method I used was to place it on the surface, using a compass with a exacto knife in one end, I just created a circle cutting through the material. It worked well, however I was not satisfied with the needle mark in the centre. I filled it just prior to applying the red. I will use another method I read about. Using Saran Wrap over the hole with the centre marked on the Saran Wrap and the centre point marked on the surface of the model. Match up the centre points and press into location. This should work a lot better, besides if you are not happy with the circle cut, you can always cut another one. Still lots to do, thanks for following this thread.
