Default It's christmas soooooo

well, it's December and my christmas list is decidedly lacking. My family doesn't have a set amount of presents so much as a limit as to what they want to spend (miserly, not poor). Anywho, I figured rather than come up with about $300 worth of DVD's or something, I'd just ask for one expensive present. I've always been interested in radio/remote/whatever-i'm-a-noob-i-have-no-idea-what-the-technical term-for-it-is controlled vehicles. One of my step brothers used to fly r/c planes; but a 4 digit price is somewhat more than what I'd like to spend. Well, I guess this is a really round-about way of asking a question that probbably gets asked a lot but I'm asking it anyway. What's the best car/stadium truck/buggy for around $300. I'm willing to spend around $100 myself for fuel or some basic setup type stuff so say we have $350 to work with.
I'm not going to be racing this piece so it doesn't have to be the new 65+ mph lambo of r/c cars. However, I'm looking for something that's nitro powered (I've had battery powered cars in the past, and 10 minutes of fun to 4 hours of charging doesn't do it for me) and can do some moderate offroading. I live on a dirt road, so i'm not going to be submarining through some bog, but maybe a mud puddle or something here and there. I'd like it to handle and be speedy and be off-roady(?); that's why I am sort of looking at stadium trucks and buggies. Obviously I'm totally clueless here, so RTR is pretty much a given. Well, if you've made it this far, congratulations. I don't have a prize to give you, but thanks for reading the entire post.

CN: I want an RTR on/offroad nitro vehicle for around $350. AWD/4X4 a plus but not necessary
