Until about 6 years ago, everyone put 40's on their trainers, then all of a sudden everyone HAD to have 46's. So yes, the LA 40 would be fine.

But as has been said, the 40 will be pretty underpowered on your next plane, so I'd say get a 46LA or a Thunder Tiger 46 Pro. (If you can afford it, the OS 46 FX is a reat engine.)
