I'll second the instructor idea. It can get expensive trying to learn to fly on your own, and it could get dangerous with a glow powered plane.
Find a local club. Join it and the AMA (most clkubs require it). The club will have instructors who will teach you for free.

You've made a great choice with the Nexstar though. Read beginner's posts here, in fact, read as much as you can. There's so much great info on RCU, you won't believe it.
