Default RE: Magic Extra 300 Tail

this problem has happened to others, I won't say it's a common problem but it has happened to several people on this forum. I put flying wires on mine right out of the box, 50-60 flights later no problems. I also beefed up the fuse in the wing saddle, firewall/fuel tank area on mine, paid off today. at about 20ftAGL inverted slow harrier I decided to pull out kinda reverse imelmen style. my engine stumbled then died as I feed in power and elevator, GREAT 20 ft off the deck inverted dead stick!!! I quickly gave it full left rudder and aileron snaped it up right and burried up elevator. It hit at about a 45 degree angle nosedown and 45 in yaw, the nose of the motor hit first followed by the left wheel and left wing tip then just floped down on the gear. the only damage were CLEAN breaks on the right side of the firewall and the wing hold down on both sides loosened(poor glue joints) I also loosened one of the wing dowels. Took me all of 20 min to strip out the tank mix some epoxy and fix it. had I not beefed up the fuse out of the box I really feel I would have been rebuliding the fuse.

Go here for info on flying wires, page 6. I used TOMAPOWA's method only I used 2 flying wires not just one.
