I use a 10X so I don't have servo overdrive problems either. I do all the basics like you point out. Everything centered and atv's even then set pitch curve from there.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that if you match the pitch to what full throttle will pull what happens when you throw cyclic in at the same time?

My 30 machines for instance. I set them at 9 deg pitch and can climb without a change in head speed at 85% throttle. I also use cyclic to throttle mixing and have some reserve power even at full collective.

Just the way I do it and seems to be working good for me.
