RE: Tuned pipe & header advice for OS 160 Fx?
Oscar - check out my website for my OS 1.60 setup; click on the yellow "Petrel" plane, and read all about my learning curve. A couple of things -
1. A pipe is a must - the Mac's 1092 gained me a LOT of power over a muffler system. Worth the money, and it was pretty cheap.
2. Karl Mueller header - a MUST - he does custom work, that works, and is in Canada, builds and ships fast. His contact info is on my webpage, too.
3. Some form of reliable pressure regulating system is a MUST HAVE !!! I chose the IronBay regulator, after trying the Cline units, and not being happy with them. Iron Bay regulator pressurizes the tank, allowing the carb to draw only what it requires based on how far open it is.
4. Stainless Steel bearings are the winner! Easy to get, durable, last a long time, and the motor just LOVES 15% nitro, 18% oil.
If you have a plane with a wide enough nose, and you can tolerate the extra weight of the OS, go for it; I doubt you'll be disappointed.
