Default RE: F-16 Ailerons and Flaps

Gary

I have had 2 YA F16's -one older generation & then had the brand new version. You do not NEED flaperons but can program them if you see a need personally .Just program the ailerons into channel 1 & 6 then setup as flaperons and designate them to a specific switch on your radio of your choice. This way if you feel you ever need or want to use them it is there.I think you will find that you will not need the flaperon feature anyways as the YA F16 slows down to a crawl on landing.Just get in a habit of pulling back to aprox. 1/2 throttle in the lap before you land then as soon as you put down the gear ,you have instant flaps with the gear doors!!As soon as you are in the downleg of the patern you can come down to like 2 clicks above idle to bring her in.Trust me it will slow down plenty once the gear is down with the geardoors, you can get her slowwwww.The YA F16 will not stall when this slow, its a incredibly stable design..It scared the bejesus outta me the first time I came into land that slow but my buds were like steve its fine,it wont stall!!I deadsticked mine numerous times and it landed safely on the runway everytime. It is a remarkable aircraft, cant stress that enough.I sold both of mine cause I am just quite honestly not a fan of the 16 looks-they just fly so damn good-thats why I owned 2 of them.Plus I tend to get tired of jets rather easy & sell them & get something else.Thats just me.Now I assume by you saying elevons on the F16 you mean tailerons?I dont have any exp. with flying this jet just as the tailerons with no aileron input-if that is what you are trying to imply that is.I am sure some guys on here will chime in about this Good luck with it & that was my 2 cents worth
