RE: RTR does not mean Ready to Run! New definition.
lots of good points there. i would have to say the biggest problem is the manufacturer not including further directions as to what needs to be done before driving the car. a knew a guy who got an ofna from a basement hobby shop and had nothing but problems. the owner of that shop told him that the reason he was having problems is because he was jumping it. not big air mind you. he was then told that it was the same thing as driving his real car off of a cliff! this was on the local track that we race on. when i explained to him the real problem he was so frustrated that he moved his buisiness to the shop i went to and then we sat down and helped him understand what needed to be done before driving the car. no more problems.
i know that what i have for a lhs is a lot more than most would ask for, and because of this the store is getting more and more customers. it doesn't take much to explain to a customer the truth about this hobby. its expensive, yes, but...its well worth it to most of us or the hobby wouldnt exist! next time you hear someone comlaining about a certain brand of car just ask yourself if you think they really know how to take care of one. if any lhs owners read this; keep in mind that you will destroy this hobby for most newcomers if you dont take 5 minutes to help them get started. thats all it takes, and its your fault that people stray. its all because the only thing you care about is $ and you cant seem to realize that you are only hurting yourselves!
