Default Why are there so few 1/2a flyers?

Good electric is expensive and I'm bored with SP400 flying wings and park flyers. 1/2A could be an option and it would be new to me. I'd want to fly it in the same spaces I flew electrics. I belong to a club and that's where I take the fuel powered planes. I've flown small electric planes down at the park at the end of the street. It's convenient, quick and has a high wife acceptance factor .

Is there such a thing as a full-house 1/2A plane that's truly fun to fly, with good vertical, decent flight time and maybe 3D capable? And if so, is that safe to fly in a park . I've flown electrics there because they're light, quiet and they feel safe.

If I gotta haul it to the club field, I may as well fly bigger stuff.
