Default RE: Lancaster Bomber

Still waiting for my Flat Black paint?? Progress has been slow due to the wait. However I did start thinking and working on the guns for the Lanc. What I used was some red bic pens. The barrels are made from the ink tube inside the pen. I cleaned them out using some pipe cleaners and they came out very clean. I then used an old punch that I had laying around to produce the flutted end of the barrels. I heated the punch up with a candle for about a minute then I forced it into the opening of the tube. It took a couple of tries to get the desired effect. I used the main pen shaft as my mount for the barrels. I drilled them out and am inserting the barrels into the pen. I grabbed a couple scrap pieces of 1/8th ply and made a mount for the pen, it can swivel up and down freely. This will be very easy to mount within the gun blisters. I am not going to have them actuated by radio. They will just sit there and can be manualy positioned. Only six more to produce. I will post more pics as the progress improves.
