Default RE: Christen Eagle biplane incidence setting

Hi, TC

I see, no down thrust plus 2+ on the stab will put you slightly tail high even with no power. Guess it's the pilots preference in that respect. I always figured in the early days that the stab was a crowbar on the excessive wing incidence used ala Pappy deBolts((and other designers) livewire designs..
The Cubs and the livewire trainers set up the wing at 14+ on the wing 5 to 7 + on the stab....then 3 to 5 degrees down for the engine. Course we would fly a 10/12 lb airplane on a .09 to .19 usually a K&B. Once in a while some brave soul would show up with an O&R .23 or .29 glow in em.

Heheh...lots of heartaches in those days but kind of fun to laugh about em now.

Tony....when your done with your Eagle is there any way I can get a set of your Pilot Eagle Plans...maybe a trade with a set of my Pilot Pitts Plans? If so, I have to have two sets done at Kinkos so another set won't upset my budget to much..
As the GP parts fit the Pilot Pitts maybe the GP Eagle stuff will fit the Pilot Eagle also..hummm
I wonder?

Here's a shot of my scratch Pitts S2A with the Zenogh G62 onboard and top wing span of 70 in. as of a bit ago..have more done now but alas no fresh pics lately..
