RE: hinge slots
I'm with bentgear on the Hangar9 CA hinges, never will use them again after loosing 2 planes to them. I suspect that to much throw combined with low torque servos allowed some blowback/flutter at the surfaces that resulted in the tail literally exploding before the ship went in.
On the other hand.....I use GP CA hinges on everything .60 sized and under and have had NO failures yet. I also tend to use 70+ in. oz. servos in applications that require huge throws with the use of long arms being necessary to get those throws.
My UCD has a Saito 100 and the original GP CA hinges all the way around and I have flown it hard all last summer, zero hinge issues. The airplane definately responds better to the Hitec digitals that replaced the HS605BB that were in it initially.
