My advise is to visit the local flying fields and meet with their instructors. Try to arrange an intro flight on one of the clubs traniner's. It will give you an idea of what r/c flying is all about. The hobby can be as excessive as you allow it to be. It truly is a hobby you can grow with. I've been in it for over 40 yrs and still love it.
