Does it make any difference whether a glow engine is mounted on a long or short mount (I was looking at the Hayes engine mounts)?

I was thinking that if I got a long mount I'd be able to use the extra length to help adjust any tail heavy situations by simply mounting the engine further away from where it attaches to the firewall.
