Hello guys!
Since it's winter here in
PR we have great weather to hit the slopes almost constant 20-25 MPH winds, nice fresh temperature, clear skies (most of the time) So i wan't expand my slope glider fleet with a new glider..I was cheking out MAN magazine a few months back and they had an article about PSS glider that i really liked..So i thought it would be great to have one of those scale bird gliders. Ok Thing is i have a House Of Balsa P51 kit that just seems fit for the task...Ok I don't want to build the wood kit for the slopes..but i would love to make a foam copy from the plans to make a cool PSS plane...The size seems to be just right with out making many mods..here is are some messurements.
43 in wing span
334 in wing area
2.5-3 lbs with radio and engine
engine required .19-.21(omited here of course just for size reference)
Ok maybe now you guys have an aproximate idea of the plane...
My questions here are mainly about wing area and and airfoil. The wing is not to complete scale and has a semi symetrical airfoil that looks very promising for slope soaring. I'm really not sure of the specifics of the airfoil. But maybe i can give more details if needed. Well what do you guys think I really should look into when building the plane? Shoould i extend wing span?
