Default RE: Phoenix Cap 232

hi Kaz

Im all the way in Brisbane Australia, and Im also looking to purchase the Phoenix Cap232.
Im 29 and havent flown a RC plane for something like 10 years (what with work and motorcycles!) but i am contemplating returning to the hobby.

The other day (new years day) i went to visit the local flying field to see what was happening and i saw two fellas with the Extra300 models. I believe these are very similar to the Cap232 in size, contruction and performance... i could be wrong though. They had only been flying for just over 12months each... and these were their second planes. The commented on the brilliant construction and how well they flew. I watched them perform all sorts of tricks , knife edge, inverted (only metres from the ground!) They seemed to think that if they could do it, then anyone could.

I found a local importer who is selling his stock and he has the whole Phoenix range in ARF's. Normal price is somewhere near $300 AUD but i can have it for $171AUD!! I used to scratch build everything but for that money, that would be a waste!!

As to engine, i have a hankering for a 4 stroke... i dont really know why, but i like the idea of something quieter. I think a .46 2-stroke is ideal so i am thinking that i need to go the next size up for the 4 stroke... DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR ME??

If there is anyone else out there in Australia, esp Brisbane, please get in touch.

Cheers

Michael
