Default My First good flight

Well what can I say? I just got into the hobby just after new years. I built my trainer in just about the time it said on the box and that was even taking the stiker off and adding some of my own. I went out to the local field with my friend (kh6oo) and he got a great ten minute flight in before the rain hit. (Yes it does rain in Hawaii) I never even got a chance to go up boy what a bummer[&o]. But things cleared up by the weekend and I was able to get my first flight in, and it was great. My trainer was surprised that I was doing so well. The thing that helped was the flight sim at the hobby shop and playing lots of flight sims on computer and the gaming consoles. Have not landed yet but I am real close to my friend. I went to a new feild on Sunday and got alot of great flights in, and I was even taught how to use the rudder with the airloins. Man that was great! The plane responded real well with that info. I hope to be landing and taking off by the end of this coming weekend. Every one wish me luck. I'll post more results when I get them, and I hope not to be posting a crash too soon. I know I will crash it is bound to happen, I just hope it does not happen to soon. In fact while me and my friend were at the new feild we were able to see a plane go down. It went up great and it looked like things were going well, when all heck broke loose. His motor died and the pilot tried to glide it in for a landing, and he started out really well, but the plane started to go in a death spiral and would not come out! It went down nose first. The plane turned out ok though, he lost his motor but it looked like it could be fixed, so lets hope that it will be in the air again soon. We were told a crash that happened before we got to the field where a guy lost his whole plane, we could still see the spot where he went down, it was not a pretty sight. Hopefully I will not have anything that gruesome! Hope to have some pics on the next post of our planes in the air! If anyone wishes to send email or video of flights you can send it to [email protected]. I am also looking for any info on the HAM portion of this hobby.
