I am almost 100% certain that the FG's are available in the USA, there are other post's that mentioned the dealers that sell them or the importers name.

Yes the body does look like that, it is made from white ABS though you can buy a polycarbonate shell as well!!

Those monster tyres do look ugly with the Marder body but they look so much better with the Beetle body.
