RE: Goldberg EXTRA vs. GP EXTRA .60 ?
My Advice. I currently have the GP Extra 300S (60 Size Kit) as my primary airplane. I have seen the CG one and while it flew nice I didn't like how it looked. For some reason it looked "Old". The Mid-Wing of the Goldberg didnt appeal to me. As for the Great Planes Extra it is an excellent build and even better flyer. I power mine with an OS 120 Surpass III (With a 16X8 Mejzlik Carbon Fiber Prop) and it is just about the perfect powerplant. While some may say that it is a bit heavy I did manage to build mine light and balance it with no lead. I moved the elevator servos to the tail to help with balancing it and it prooved to be the exact solution. I also enlarged the rudder and elevator by about 1" each. While it is not a 3D type plane it does excell at IMAC type maneuvers. It does a nice blender and inverted flat spin. Vertical is excellent with the power of the OS and all aerobatics are within the planes envelope (Minus 3D). It lands slow for this type of plane and handles excellent on the ground.
GO WITH THE GP!!!
