Default RE: Goldberg EXTRA vs. GP EXTRA .60 ?

I currently have two CG's flying. One with Webra 1.20 and the other (that was heavily bashed) flying with a Saito 1.80.

I've never seen the GP flown but I have the kit that will get built later this year.

The one thing I like the best about the CG is not just great flying Characteristics but the shoulder wing look.

Flying it is to fun. I can knife edge up and down the field all day long. LOVE IT! The first one I have is stock and is a TRUE flyer. It is the easiest flying airplane I've ever had. You can slow it to a crawl and then race it down the field. I've learned how to do my first true TQ role with this airplane but really had to crank in the throw to the rudder and elevator.

The one with the saito 1.80 is quite a sight although it really no longer resembles my other extra. It sports an EDGE wing and Extremely over-sized tail. It's AWESOME. Yes the Saito is a little much and would be better with a webra 1.20 or any other 1.20 FS engine. I can come straight down the field pull the elevator full deflection and into a wall, transition into a VERY STABLE Falling leaf with no wing waggle then into a hover/TQ roll.

Unfortunately I will have to agree that GP designs easier building airplanes with better hardware. Two weeks ago I was doing a falling life to the ground and although I landed a little hard it wasn't a hit. But when the wheels touched the ground one side of the landing gear BROKE. YES the Piano wire BROKE at the 90 degree bend going up into the fuse. I had thought I blew out the side of the fuse when it happened because of the way it's designed but after examining it there was NO DAMAGE to the wood at all. ONLY the broke piano wire.

Good Luck ..

Here is a thread I did on my Bashed Extra.
