Jim, you should be able to find a good bit of info on this engine. You mention that you have the SA model. This is the first model if I'm not mistaken. If so, I had the same engine in Pitts-I with good success. The engine flew my Pitts very well. In fact, it had less vibration than the DA 50 I have in Pitt's-II. The only thing I experienced with this engine that I had trouble with was that it was difficult for me to flip start. I never got the hang of it. I used the Megatron two handled starter by Sullivan and that solved this issue 100%. Starter is a dream. I used the 24 volt configuration with two 12 volt batteries. Unbelievable starting power. I used a Pro Zinger 20X8 prop. Also used the stock spinner, but quickly found that the brackets failed with the starter. Too much torque for the brackets. I had the prop bolt drilled and threaded so I could use a True Turn spinner adapter. This solved the problem so I could use the stock spinner. I also had to cut the spinner for prop clearance. Would also recommend using a Zenoah velocity stack on the carb. Roger Yarrish did this in the MAN review on the Pitts with the Fuji 50. It does make choking the engine easier.
