RE: GP CHRISTEN EAGLE
r180reef - Didn't when I had this airplane. I had second thoughts about doing this as well, and did much research on this and discussed with others. You probably already know this, but let me stress doing range checks with the engine running and off to be sure. I also had a Simple smoke system in This model and now in Pitts-II, As mentioned, I aligned the throttle servo with a choke servo in Pitts-II just behind the tank on a servo tray. Now the electronic ignition for the DA is on the box in the same location that I had the throttle servo on Pitts-I. Below is a picture.
Jim, correction on the above post about using a True Turn adapter. This was incorrect. Sorry about that. I had the prop bolt tapped and threaded so the above mentioned spinner bolt could thread right into the prop bolt. No adapter needed. Keep in mind, this was on the Pitts so on the CE the lengths may be a bit different. Please excuse my error on this. I thought about it after I went to bed last night and was think about this and realized I had made this mistake. Again, this solution really did work well in solving the spinner bracket issue with the stock spinner.
