When I did the tail group for the Midwest kit --I did the counterbalances per full scale - so if anyone is in doubt as to what Tom is describing for the tail group - --look at current kit of the Midwest Extra.
These work very well - any other opinions will result from individual setups - but the short story - the work very well.
