Default RE: Suggestions for future Edges....

ORIGINAL: ezflyr

Hi Tom,

I'm nearing completion of my 28% Wild Hare Edge, and thought I'd give you a little bit of feedback for possible changes/improvements for future builds of this product.

1. Increase the width of the servo cutouts by 0.1 inch. The Hitec HT5945MG servos will not fit the cutouts without enlarging the stock cutout.

2. Change the material of the hardpoints to a hardwood. I think they're phenolic now, and they are very difficult to countersink cleanly. They also are prone to splitting if you overtighen the control horns.

Overall, I'm completely thrilled by this airplane, and can't wait for some decent weather to fly it!! Thanks for all your efforts, Tom, this has been a thoroughly enjoyable build!!

That's it? You're easy.

The servo cutouts are narrow to fit some smaller servos. It's easier to make them bigger than smaller.

They're already made of hardwood. I'm guessing you did not drill them with a 9/64 drill as the manual says, I've never had one split like that. Also I never countersink them, I put the horn screws in from the bottom so they do not show on top, also described in the manual.

But thanks for offering your suggestions.
