Yes, thats how I take off as well.

Hold up elevator to keep the tailwheel on the ground...which is pretty typical for a taildragger, but usually on most planes, I give a little down to transition from wheel to rudder. However, on the spad3d, I find myself taking off before I ever get a chance.

Kind of like a harrier take-off really...
