It sounds to me like you might even want to consider a slower, lighter warbird like the GWS warbirds.
They might fit your time, and money budgets. When the stock motor wears out, you can add a good motor, and keep flying. They are slow enough for schoolyard type flying, but with more power are capable of loops and rolls etc.
There are some warbirds on the market that are capable of outside, spinning, and snapping manuevers, but they are quite fast, and immediately respond to your controls. No time for second thoughts. These are not suited for guys who don't have at least a low wing, high performance aerobat under their belt.
