Default RE: Which Turbine

ORIGINAL: Stig Andersen

Hello David.

I voted for SimJet. I have a SimJet 1200 (12lbs+) turbine and the SimJet 3000 (30 lbs) I have been flying SimJet turbines for 5 years now with complete satisfaction. (Of course, the SimJet factory is only a two hour drive away from where I live, so buying SimJets was a natural choice for me.

Right now the dollar isn't very strong compared to European currencies, but I know from SimJet that they have made an insurance, if the dollar would go weak. This means the you can purchase a SimJet turbine for a lot less money than some other brands at the moment.

Also compare the specs. of the different 12 lbs turbines on the market. I think you will find that the SimJet 1200 is a good choice. They also make a SimJet 1200 SP, which has 15 lbs of thrust.

Try and contact Kevin or Ed at Great Northern Models. They are the dealer for North America.

Just my 2 cents.
I too have a simjet 1200 and a 2300. I have had great results with my simjets(although limited as I have not flown alot) And if I need service, Kevin (Great Northern models) is only a 15min drive away.
