RE: RE: Head Count
I'd like some feedback on my thoughts guys. First of all, anybody that flys a twin is ok with me, but in the interest of safty and group morale, we should discuss what we want and don't want from an event like this. Nomatter where the event is to be held, the other 98% of the participants are going to be traveling (at no small expense) and flying some exstremly expensive aircraft that probably took the better part of a year to build! Those people deserve to know what to expect as far as flight rules and regulations. I have many large warbirds that I admire deeply, and I am really fussy when it comes to flying my large twins in the same airspace as everyone else. How about this for starters, No more than 4 aircraft in the air at the same time, 80" minumum wingspan, any multieng warbird, a venue that puts the sun to our backs for the better part of the day, where noise won't be an issue, where we have a decent chance to save the bird with an eng out on takeoff. I think someplace in Iowa would be good, (I don't live in Iowa). Chime in guys and tell me if I'm just being too fussy. If it looks safe, I'll be bringing a Ziroli P-38 with 3.6 inline Mokis on gas.
