RE: RE: Head Count
Is the club at Buds Field willing to host the event? Four twins in the air at once is a lot of noise to consider. May be some kind of formation flight such as they do with the B17's at bomber field, put as many in the air as possible (strictly volunteer of course) for an 8 or 10 min display of air superiority, for a noon time show. Race track rules for open flying. Something our club has adopted for 2 day events is to leave the field open on Sat until noon, then close the field except to event participants until 2:30 pm on Sun, that way the members of the club not participating in the event do not lose use of the field for a whole weekend. Depending on the level of participation in the event, we can option to open the field to general flying on Sat evening. Safety rules will have to be established such as where to start engines, at our field starting is done inside the 10' wide pilots box. A spotter/crewchief/helper/holder (one person can do this) should be required. Any one preforming twinman's vertical hold test should have two people holding the aircraft. OF course at any AMA field, AMA rules will have to apply. Anyone bringing an aircraft over 55lbs will have to have the appropriate waviers.
