Default RE: Stock Enforcer Gator hull hit 40mph today

ORIGINAL: PHCM

Ya'll know about the 2nd Enforcer Gator that I bought a few weeks ago. Its the exact same as my white one. Bought it used for almost half the price I paid for the white rig, RTR.!.!.!

Got the white boat all set with the new engine and for the life of me haven't been able to get it to even POP. I've taken it out of the boat two times and tore it almost completely down and don't know what the problem is. The guys at Jim's have been real helpful. Going to wait and call Bonzi and see if they'll work with me, if not, I'm sending it to a guy that I trust to turn some wrenches on it. I'm simply stumped.

Getting back to the yellow boat.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This thing really helped make my day.

Cold.... try 20ish *........ it was COLD

Dropped it in the water after pulling two times and warm up and this thing was on its way! Love those RC230 engines. Slapped a cupped 275 on there and this thing RIPPED. Kinda miss that cannister exhaust sound. You get spoiled with the sound of the Cooper Quiet exhaust.

Dont' know what I did with the white boat, but for the life of me, it never would get over 38 mph even with a gazzilion different props and strut adjustments. (with cannister exhaust. w/cooper, its hit 44 and change with a lot of setup work)

Maybe it was the cold? I know it had something to do with it because the colder it is, the more power engines make. Its been proven.

Either way.... I got my 40. --------------- 40.0 but its still a milestone for me and these hulls with stock setup from the factory. Only change was that 275 that had the 3/16" of the tips bent a little. Changed to a stock 275... thinned and razor sharp but no mods,,,, and it got to 38.4.

So I've talked your head off. Those of you that know me know I love this stuff. I love the Enforcer Gator hull and those RC230's ain't too bad either...

First, make sure the carb is getting fuel, make sure you got spark, then check the timing. Use a bussiness card, loosen the coil, insert card between coil and rotor, bring coil down to bussiness card. if two needle adjustments on the carb, set high 2 1/2turns out, low almost one turn out. Good luck.
