Really, don't get too concerned about being the 'old guy' learning. My experience with building included a lot of free flight, but I didn't get into RC until my daughter met a guy who was fiishing his degree as a Mechanical Engineer. He taught me to fly my trainer. Turned out to be a good thing for both of us. We got to know each other better.

You might find out that there is something to be gained by working with younger flyers.
