The streaking pattern seen has 3 possible causes:

1) fuel soaking before painting. You get that result EVERY time if the fuel soak isn't cured first.

2) improper mixing of the paint. You can get that result by dipping the brush in the blue, then in the clear then trying to paint the model. (some people do it on purpose for certain effects when painting on canvas) You sure you mixed the blue well then measured the paints 50-50 then mixed that well? (I'm betting on this one.)

3) WAX on the model.

Improper brush will give some streaking... but generally not that result (but you are using the wrong brush.)


BTW... generally the first color coat is applied FULL STRENGTH, not 50-50 with thinner when brushed on. you thin 50-50 for airbrushing it (use a respirator when airbrushing with Dope... nasty for your lungs. bad for the brain cells too.)
