I've seen problems with GWS RXs:
The president of the club I belong to was flying a GWS Slow Stick. He put an Anstro brushless motor in and souped it up so that it could hover.
He was hovering this thing on Ch 36. I walk by the plane on my way out to the flight line to fly my Fokker Dr-1 on CH 46. As I pass his hovering wreck, he lost all control and litteraly RAN after it to regain signal. This happened twice while the Stick was in my radio control zone. After I landed I ask him to check out what was happening. He turns on the plane and his radio. Then I turn on my radio. My Tx was twice the distance from the plane as his Tx was. When I turned on the plane started shakin' as if it was full of ants. The problem was the GWS Rx he had installed.
