Default RE: Best SSC Combat Plane

Hi Piggy. Yea Dick and I are both building Tufflight Panthers. They are 60' WS based on their popular Predator design. I like 'em because they are built of EPP and by switching engines, a 10 minute job, you can go from SSC to Open B. Planes aren't very expensive, but the recommended Icarex covering costs a lot compared to RSN or even ultracote. But Icarex is highly favored by veteran combaters.

We tried to fly these last weekend. I had mine so tail heavy it would not fly--don't know how I managed to miss it so badly. Dick launches and it was all we could do not to get hit with it--what a ride[X(]. Flying wings are very sensitive to proper CG. I have corrected (hopefully) and will try again. The resulting crash only broke the nylon bolts and prop--design worked as planned.

Dick had radio trouble and was not able to test fly.

I am bringing to meeting tonight.
