RE: Hitech?
O geez here we go again. I find the standard 625 and 645 to be very good standard high torque servos. I have 625's in my DP ultimate, and 645's and 625" in my GP patty wagstaff. They are not as precise as a corless servo, that said they are plenty precise for either one of these planes. I have had the servos in my patty for well over a year with lots of flights. I have had one 645 aileron servo fail at about a year due to vibration of the gas engine. It actually shook one of the chips off the board. Hitec repaired it free of charge. I have replaced all the metal gears at about 9 months, All metal gear servos have to have the gears replaced occasionally, just a fact of life. I have 5925's in my 33% extra and so far I like them a lot, but Ive only got 5 flights on it. There were in the past several people that had planes go in because of early problems with the digital 645 (5645) I havent heard of any problems in quite some time and I know 2 flyers with 33% caps that have them on every control surface. Bottom line, check any new servo thouroughly and fly. I have had problems with the hs-77 aileron servo burning out motors, but then again I was using them on fun fly control surfaces. (sounded like a good idea at the time)
