Thanks from all of you for your great advise. I will leave the advance alone(its a good sport flyer). I was at my club today and met a member thats been flying warbirds for years. He gave the same advise fly high and test a little at a time. He also said it would be a good idea to go up with an instructor(with warbird experience) and buddy box the first time up. We have one member that qualifies for this. So I think I got figured out. Instructor First , Then Fly high and take it a little at a time.
