newbies bored?
Several times in the past I have seen where a new person to flying has asked the question, "do you ever get bored with trainers"? Because of finances, I have been mainly flying my trainer for three years now. Am I bored? Perhaps some days are kind of boring, especially when I see the other pilots doing great things with their sport planes. But, I would like to share something with those of you who think that your trainers are boring. After you have really mastered the basics, try flying in a little harder blowing wind.
What a challenge! I have even attempted flying in somewhat windy conditions when I possitively would not have done so in the first couple of years.
What a thrill it is to nose that trainer into the wind while in the air, cut the throttle back and hold it still in the air. Reminds me of some of those eagles that you see staying motionless in the air. Talk about something that is fun. And then the other fun comes...trying to land with a stronger wind that you are not accustomed to doing. Man, talk about your heart pumping even more. Bored with trainers? I don't think so. Not when there seems to be more and more challenges.
This is not new to the experienced pilots. I just wanted to share this little tid bit with you other beginners.
