RE: gluing sheeting to foam
I've always used 3M contact cement for over 30 years. Just make sure you get
the kind that does not attack the foam. They've got so many new kinds now you'll
just have to experiment. The only problem I ever had was the contact cement
soaking into the foam and balsa and there not being enough on the surface of the cores
and wood for good adhesion. The cure for that is to first spray the wood and foam with
a light coat of Aqua Net hair spray to close the pores. I have a retired pattern ship I
built this way in 1972 and the wing and stab still look perfect except for a few whiskey
bumps after 3 years of pattern wars and lots of everyday flying. The nice part about
contact cement is not having the long wait to dry.
