Default 9.6V on an Electrifly S280BB motor?

Hello there!

I've been flying glow for almost 10 years, and I just bought my first electric setup for a small par flyer. I bought an Electryfly S280BB motor with BB gearbox and an electrifly C-10 speed control.

Why does the S280BB motor show a 8.4V rating when I can see that most other S280 motor are rated for 9.6V....
Will I electrifRy the motor if using an 8 cell pack?? I figure I won't use more than 70% power (less than 8.4V) most of the time, and if the motor, controler and battery are well ventilated, short bursts of full power wouldn't hurt that much.... Am I mising something here?

Thanksa lot!
