Default RE: Viper Cost??

Boss248,...

To answer a couple of your questions,... These past two years I've been flying a forty size Kaos in Intermediate. Needless to say I've been getting my butt kicked on a regular basis all over District 1, ha!! I figured moving up to a 60-90 size airplane would be the most logical step in order to obtain a more competitive plane (i.e. bigger plane) and still keep initial cost down.

As far as the cost of the Viper,... I think some of the other guys monitoring this thread might have more up to date information; however, if memory serves me, back when I contacted Dennis I got a quote of around four hundred dollars. The Viper 91 might have been slightly under four hundred and the 120 a bit over. Maybe some one else who more recently bought a Viper could chime in here?

Once again,... I realize even at four hundred it is still a great bargain for what you get. All the jigged and aligned assemblies are well worth it. However I just can not (in good conscience) part with that large of a chunk of cash at one time for an airplane. As you know building one yourself spreads the cash outlay over a period of time, so its a little easier to swallow, ha!!

Besides,... I still enjoy the building aspect of this hobby. Also,... I take great pride in flying a plane that I built myself, even if it is only a forty size Kaos, ha!!

Sincerely,
Steve T.
