1 ah charge rates for NiMH are for quick charging and the best way to extend your pack's life is to charge at a lower rate with a peak detection charger.

I personally prefer a c/10 charge for all of my battery packs.

C is the amp/hr rating of the pack so for a 1100 mah pack, a 110 mah rating would be perfect assuming you have the time to charge it overnight.
