Hasn't been the case for me. I started flying fixed wing in 1984, heli's in 1988. I still fly both. Sometimes I think I get the same kick out of flying my park flyers as I do my heli's. The park flyers I have are very relaxing to fly so they compliment the heli's which can be a real nerve trip.

R Rocks mentioned heli's not being allowed at the club field. That has not been the case for me. I have a good relationship with my flying buddies (only one other chopper pilot out of 100 or so members). I have talked to other pilots who ran into this though. One guy from Milwaukee who was up at our swap meet recently told me a club he belonged ran into the problem. They ended up banning heli's because of a couple of trouble makers.
