Default RE: advanced training

One good possibility is the Four-Star. Its stable enough to be used as a trainer for introductory lessons using a buddy box. Its aerobatic enough to do the full AMA Intermediate Pattern. A great aircraft to have for anyone.

The Tiger series by Goldberg is very similar... slightly higher wing loading. Slightly faster airspeed and tricycle landing gear. But its also a fairly stable, yet nicely aerobatic aircraft. (the Tiger lands a little faster and won't ride thermals as well when dead-stick.)
