My sketch for the rear drive/attach mech:

(tab protruding up through slider is subsequently bent over and soldered to a flange that engages the canopy)

I'm taking suggestions as to how to drive this dang contraption!

Needs about 5 inches of travel. Anybody? I have lots of room in the turtledeck for whatever.
