Lord Lucan and friends - I don't think you made an error in the engine you purchased. I was simply telling you guys how my 91 Surpass was performing now that the engine has roughly 20 flights on it. At first it did seem a bit stuffy, but now that it's getting broken in it has plenty of power for my kind of flying. I dabble in the 3-D stuff. Others on this thread are more aggressively into 3-D so they may be better informed on what engine would be best for more aggressive 3-D maneuvers.
Matt, here is how my control linkage is set-up on mine. I used 440 rods with solder clevis on one end and threaded on the other. Used Dubro single post control arms. The jet pic is of a BVD Maverick. Engine is a BVM 96 specially designed as a complete power unit with the BVM biofan and pipe. Plane has BVM brakes and remote airborne mixture control. Using Rohm-Air retract system, and painted with automotive acrylic lacquer. It is 5 years old and over 200 flights. Art Azlin is the builder and pilot. He is a master builder and excellent pilot. I added one more picture of the jet just because it turned out so darn good.
thank you kindly for the pics Roger
